The employees of our in-house laboratory ensure that the production process is continuously monitored, from the delivery of the crude oil to the supply of the finished product. By regularly taking and analysing samples, they ensure that the quality of our products meets the highest standards.

In some ways, refineries are the backbone of our lives and ensure that the various end products are always of the same quality. This is because crude oil, a natural resource, varies in its composition depending on where it is found.
Crude oils with different compositions
Different oils have different product yields and are therefore traded on the global markets at different prices. Both the density and the sulphur content are the yardstick for the quality of the oil: the lower the better. Refineries produce light products such as petrol, diesel, jet fuel and heating oil from ‘light’ and ‘sweet’ low-sulphur crude oils.
It’s all about the texture
As the refinery ensures consistent product quality, we blend semi-finished products to make it easier to achieve the standardised target product. Similar to a whisky distillery, where different wheat harvests from different years are combined to achieve the same flavour, these semi-finished products are blended in a refinery.
