It was history that chose our location! Originally the region around Hemmingstedt was a mining area, extracting oil-bearing chalk and then crude oil. Today we benefit from this quirk of nature, enjoying our proximity to the North Sea and the area’s unique natural beauty.
As the district’s administrative centre, the nearby town of Heide possesses all the usual municipal institutions.
